Flash allows you to include rich creative animation and interactivity into a website. It can be used for advertisements and to build video into a web page.

From a search engine optimisation and accessibility perspective I would not recommend full Flash websites, however if you need more impact, interactivity or video, Flash can be included in a standard HTML/CSS site to produce some superb effects.
